    Allow me to pile on with the accolades and appreciation for this video. I've just installed a Navilink Lite on my 2-year-old NPE-210A2 and am up and running with no issues. Could not have done it without this video, though. I started by downloading all of the documentation from the Navien site and reading every word before even opening the box. What a waste of time that was. Zero useful information in the manuals and spec sheets. Then I searched and found this video. I consider myself a fairly tech-savvy guy and needed to see this app work before I purchase my second Navien water heater for a vacation home in another state where we already have a lower-end tankless system. I really like our existing Navien re-circ system but require remote control. Our vacation home has a well with year-round 54 degree water. Plus the master bath is the furthest point from the heater. So it currently takes 2 minutes and 15 seconds to get hot water to the master bath. We will be hosting short-term rental guests who will not take kindly to the low-end system's performance. So a condensing system with re-circ (like I have at our primary home) with a dedicated return loop line is exactly what I need. But the house will be vacant at least 2/3 of the time, and I can't justify burning propane year round just because I want a re-circ pump. Nor can I trust guests or the cleaning service to manually turn the heater on and off. So this is looking good for our application. I expect to be able to monitor gas and water utilization. But most import for me, I should be able to turn the new system on and off remotely. Thanks again for a great video.

      Is there any difference between the Navilink and the Navilink Lite. I had this very same Navien installed in my home today. I don't want to order the wrong model number or type of Wi-Fi Module. As you say...the Manuals don't give you much.

    My old hp px 229ax amd 10 has the same problem, since the original fan is busted, change it to oem, that was the problem happened. I've already looked for cooling system with the copper, but can't seem find it, I'm in Indonesia. Since I've already have the replacement laptop, Victus core i7, this old laptop now being used by my daughter. To avoid thermal shutdown when she'is playing roblox for hours, I put a big standing fan in near this laptop, and it works like a charm. Now I got to find out how to set Roblox to amd graphic card, any ideas on how to do that? Thanks

    • @HBI123

      I spoke to Navien customer support about the Hotbutton. In order to make that Hotbutton appear in the Navilink app, you have to go to the heater unit and set Recirculation to External --> Hotbutton. This can be done with or without the optional Hotbutton kit. This kit includes a temperature sensor that connects from the far-end of the recirc loop to the temperature sensor on the Hotbutton circuitry on the water heater. Without this kit (and the temperature sensor), setting the Recirculation to Hotbutton makes the recirculation completely manual i.e. no recirc happens unless you open the app and hit the Hotbutton. This "completely manual" is NOT what I want. What I (and I think customers in general) want is an automated/scheduled recirculation PLUS the manual, on-demand recirculation.

    • @BobotsTrains
      @BobotsTrains 5 місяців тому

      The question is whether the heat is being properly transferred from the CPU side of the copper heat pipe over to the fan heat sink. When it overheats, my heat pipe was extremely hot at the CPU end and then cooled in the middle way before the fan heat sink. Thus a defective heat pipe that couldn't carry off the heat to the fan and heatsink.

    A huge thanks to you for putting this video out. The flash on mine stopped working and, before digging into the guts, I decided to goggle the repair and your video popped up. You saved me tons of time. I just checked the switch by trying it manually (no luck), then crossed the terminals (it worked). I dug out my contact cleaner and sprayed it down. Rechecked it and success! A word of caution to others: When reassembling, make sure to remove the center cap on the bottom so you can pull the wires out (gently) while putting the base and the top back together again. I didn't do that at first, and the wire pushing against the trigger disk caused it to lean down on one side and trigger the flash when it wasn't supposed to. An easy fix, but better to avoid it from the start.

    We have been trying for days to get the Sindoh to work with 3rd party filament and it keeps breaking in the middle of the prints. We are not very experienced with the printer (we work at a school and the person who used them left leaving us no support), but we need to print student projects soon. What kind of things can we try to keep this from happening?

    • @BobotsTrains
      @BobotsTrains 8 місяців тому

      Assuming you are running a 3DWOX1 model which supports third-party filaments (open source) per the menu option setting I show in this video? I never leave the filament in the printer when not actively printing. The reason is because after several days at rest the filament is pinched at the same spot in the black rubber rollers inside the filament cartridge creating a dry and weak spot. Then when the printing starts, the filament usually runs a bit then breaks off inside the machine creating a hassle. I always keep the filament cartridge stored in a zip loc bag outside the printer and manually spin the gear on the cartridge and cut off and waste the first 12-15" of filament to avoid this issue. Filament should be stored with desiccant in a sealed bag with minimal air. You may have bad filament and need to buy fresh. Another thought is that an oversized filament spool is dragging due to too wide or too big. See my video here on increasing the spool width area with 3D printed spacers: ua-cam.com/video/NO61F7ka2rk/v-deo.html Visit the Facebook group I help moderate for more questions: facebook.com/groups/593946721288877

    • @patriciadueck8501
      @patriciadueck8501 8 місяців тому

      @@BobotsTrains Yes, we followed all your videos. The problem is that we had just put the filament in as opposed to using it after it was left in the machine for awhile. It was a brand new reel. We are so confused why things break in the middle. It was a PLA, maybe there was an issue with temperature. Even our other machine, we put in a Sindoh filament and it broke about halfway through the print. Since it is a school printer, we can't just sit there throgh a 13 hour print.

    • @BobotsTrains
      @BobotsTrains 8 місяців тому

      @@patriciadueck8501 You tried another printer so it's not a fault with the printer. I'm confused though. You say you are using SIndoh filament, but you talk about 3rd party filament. Are you using the Sindoh filament in the SIndoh cartridge in cartridge mode on the printer? Are you using non-Sindoh filament in the Open Source setting mode? Are you trying to using SIndoh brand filament without the cartridge as Open Source? In any case, filament can get old and brittle even unused and some of the SIndoh filament has been around for 7+ years now. Why not try to buy some Amazon or Hatchbox or other 1.75mm PLA 3rd party filament online and try that in Open Source mode as a troubleshooting step?

    • @patriciadueck8501
      @patriciadueck8501 8 місяців тому

      @@BobotsTrains I guess I was unclear. We have 2 of the Sindoh printers. We were experimenting with them and trying to deduce why the filament was breaking and essentially trying to learn how to use the printers. In one printer we used Sindoh filament, in the other 3rd party. We have purchased brand new filament that is supposedly a good quality and we'll try it next. The Sindoh filament is only about 3 years old and the other filament was older but vacuum packed. I guess we'll just keep trying. Thanks.

    Nice video. Had a devil of a time getting the device to connect to my network. I use UniFi networking equipment and I was finally able to trace the issue to a WPA problem. A lot of my devices use the Wi-Fi Protected Access 3 protocol (WPA3) but I have a few older devices that still use WPA2. Unifi network configuration allows for a hybrid/mix of WPA2 and WPA3 support but the NaviLite box does not like this at all - refuses to connect. Disabling WPA3 and using solely WPA2 gets things going which is both good and not so good. Other than that problem, it works well. I dont know if there is any way to show the software version of the wifi box - the only version I see is 10.02 but I think thats my NPE-240S2. The app reports 2.00.02
